introduction post- Paityn James

 Hi everyone my name is Paityn James and I am 20 years old. I am from Alaska and now am living on the East Coast with my husband who is in the military. I am in my second year of college and am going for my nursing degree. My favorite thing to do is go hiking and on adventures outside or to the closest beach. I have two lovely dogs one being a blue heeler and the other being a black lab who are both full of energy. 



This is one of my favorite pictures my sister took for my senior year in high school. I find this picture so calming and simple that when I look at it I can just hear the creek running. 

My relationship with music started when I was 6 and started to learn how to play the guitar and piano. I maintained doing so for the next 2 years and then got caught up just listening to music as I began to play sports. I now listen to all genres of music besides heavy metal rock music I have never been a fan of. I have always wanted to go to a concert but whenever the time came near for me to have the opportunity something has always come up last minute. I do enjoy at fancy restaurants when people will play music as you are eating.

    Living on the East coast, I hope you'll be able to catch a concert a lot easier than you'd be able to in Alaska! It seems like almost every mainstream artist makes a stop between Miami and Boston. =)

    I also think it's really cool that you have the lyrics to your favorite song with you at all times. I thought about doing the same but after getting one small tattoo 20 years ago, I am too much of a baby to go through with it! =) Instead, I'm thinking of doing something like this for my wall. http://tinyurl.com/ye78c67e

    Paityn, I also have a blue heeler and I love the water. One of the many things I appreciated about the military was the chance to travel. I got to travel all over and visit a lot of beaches.

    Hey Paityn! First off the spelling of your name is so pretty! I can related because I started loving music at a young age as well, while I had a guitar, I never learned how to play it lol. I also find it very relaxing when there is live music when dining. It gives the restaurant a more sophisticated feel almost. I hope that you are enjoying the East Coast.

musical analysis #1- Mamas Broken Heart

Mamas Broken Heart, sung by Miranda Lambert and written by Brandy Clark, Shane McAnally, and Kacey Musgraves, was released on January 14, 2013.  Mama's Broken Heart by Miranda Lambert was the song I grew up listening to. It was very catchy for me, and since all the girls in my family loved listening to the country, we would blast this in the car and all sing along to it. This song is a country song. This song is, for the most part, fast and keeps the rhythm the same.  Lyrics- this song is about a girl who went unhinged after a nasty breakup. She does some wild things after she gets broken up with. In the song, she sings, " I cut my bangs with some rusty kitchen scissors, I screamed his name till the neighbors called the cops."
